Yellow Jackets and Gray Wolves Battle to the Wire

SYLVANIA, OHIO - The Defiance College men's wrestling team returned to action on Wednesday evening, heading to Lourdes University to take on the Gray Wolves. In yet another thrilling dual, the Yellow Jackets came up short by just three points, 25-22. 

Rosendo Beltran (Toledo / Central Catholic) continued his winning ways for the Purple and Gold, earning victory by fall in just 2:16 in the 125 bout. Seth Beard (Napoleon / Napoleon) continued the winning action for DC by major decision in 133. 

Cortez Bradley (Garfield / Warrensville Heights) grabbed the next victory for the Yellow Jackets, winning his 149 bout by fall just 2:37 into the contest. Tyler Houston (Swanton / Swanton) grabbed a thrilling 6-5 decision in 165. Hunter Mcnutt (Oregon / Clay) wrapped up the win column with a 9-4 decision over his Lourdes opponent. Coming down to the wire for a second dual in a row, the Gray Wolves were able to outlast the Jackets, picking up wins in the final two classes. 

The Yellow Jacket wrestling squad will return to action this weekend, Jan. 25-26, as they head to Wheaton College for an invitational. Action is slated to get started at 10:00 am on both Friday and Saturday.
