DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Defiance College women's basketball team plays their final non-confrence game of the year with Kalamazoo traveling to the Weaner Center on Monday night. Tipoff at the Weaner Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets are riding a three-game winning streak through the final stretch of non-league games after dropping the first three HCAC games on the schedule. A win on Monday would give DC four victories in six days.
Defiance is scoring almost 61 points per game and has posted 65 or more in each of the last three games. DC has had a different leading scorer in each of the last six games while eight different players have recorded at least one game scoring double figures.
Kalamazoo has lost to HCAC members Anderson and twice to Manchester in addition to shared opponent Hiram. The Hornets are coming off their narrowest margin of defeat this season with a three-point loss to Dominican (Ill.) to fall to 0-10. The Kalamazoo squad is averaging 42 points per game, led by Kalamazoo native Laila Vincent at 10 points per contest.
The Yellow Jackets and Hornets match up for the 14th time on Monday night. A year ago, DC claimed a 71-47 road victory and lead the all-time series 11-2.
