Tietje Named to B-W Tournament Team

DEFIANCE, Ohio – After a dominating weekend in the post for Kelsey Tietje, the first-year Yellow Jacket was selected to the Baldwin-Wallace Tournament Team.
Tietje (Deshler, Ohio/Patrick Henry) accounted for back-to-back nights of 20-and-10 on Friday and Saturday. In the opening game of the tournament against B-W, Tietje racked up 25 points and 10 boards.
Then in the consolation contest with Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, the Patrick Henry High product shot 8-of-13 from the field (61.5 percent) for 24 points, to go along with 10 rebounds, a block and a steal.
B-W's Audrey Smoli was chosen as the tournament's most valuable player. She was joined on the all-tournament team by teammate Jessica Lairson, Calvin College's Hannah Acre and Kayla Engelhard, Ohio Wesleyan's Sarah McQuad and DC's Tietje.
The Purple and Gold women's basketball squad will take the court next on Saturday, November 30 against the St. Mary's Belles. The contest tip's off at 3 p.m.
