Bio

Amanda Schneider joined the Defiance College softball staff in the fall of 2021 as an assistant coach. 

Prior to arriving at DC, Schneider served as an assistant coach with the Albion College softball team from 2015-21. While at Albion she workers with hitters, slappers, and outfielders and played a key role in rebuilding the Britons program. Under her tutelage, the Britons boosted their offensive production in several categories including home runs and batting average. Schneider also assisted in recruiting and planning practice while at Albion.

Before her time at Albion, Schneider spent the 2015 season as a varsity softball coach at Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School in Marine City, Mich. where she working with athletes to improve their hitting, fielding, and pitching. Schneider also served as an assistant softball and head volleyball coach at Anchor Bay Middle School in Baltimore, Mich. during the 2014 season.

Schneider played collegiately at Alma College where she was a four-year letter winner. During her playing career, she was a three-time All-MIAA honoree and member of two conference championship teams. In 2013 she was named First Team All-MIAA and Second Team NFCA All-Central Region after hitting .397 with 15 extra-base hits, driving in 21 runs, and stealing 10 bases. She earned Second Team All-MIAA honors in both 2011 and 2012 after hitting .400 and .351 respectively. 

Originally from New Baltimore, Mich., Schneider graduated from Alma in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in history and social studies secondary education. She later went on to earn a Master's degree in physical education with a concentration in coaching from Ball State University in 2019.
