Three student-athletes take part in NCAA Career in Sports Forum
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College’s Erin Breece (Hamler, Ohio/Patrick Henry), Briawna Francis (Indianapolis, Ind./Avon) and Chelsey Strawser (Lewisburg, Ohio/Tri-County North) were three of more than 300 NCAA student-athletes from across the country who had the opportunity to get career guidance and network with athletics administrators and sports industry experts virtually from May 26-28 at the 2021 NCAA Career in Sports Forum.

Hubble named HCAC’s top player with four others from softball honored
CARMEL, Ind. – The Defiance College softball program has five players who earned All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition this season, led by Kalin Hubble (Anderson, Ind./Anderson), the Player of the Year. The HCAC office announced its 2021 softball all-conference teams and major award winners on Tuesday morning after a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Record-breaking offensive season for softball comes to an end
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College softball team finished a record-breaking offensive year in 2021 with a sixth-place finish in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings. The Yellow Jackets went 16-21-1 overall on the season and 8-8 in HCAC play. Defiance nearly missed out on the HCAC tournament due to a tiebreaker with Franklin.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind- The Defiance College softball team rounded out Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a doubleheader at Rose-Hulman on Sunday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets claimed a 10-3 victory in the opening game before winning game two, 8-0, in six innings.

DEFIANCE, Ohio- The Defiance College softball team recognized seven seniors on Saturday afternoon at Sal Hench Field as they took on Franklin College for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Purple and Gold fell short in the opener by a 3-2 score before winning game two, 4-3.

Softball sweeps Bluffton at home
DEFIANCE, Ohio - On a beautiful Tuesday evening at the Sal Hench Field, the Defiance College softball team hosted rival Bluffton University for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Beavers 10-2 in the opening game before cruising to another five-inning 8-0 victory to complete the sweep.

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Defiance College softball team traveled to Manchester University for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Monday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets fell short in game one by a 10-8 score before rebounding with a 12-5 victory to earn the split.

CINCINNATI, Ohio- The Defiance College softball team rounded out the week on the road as they traveled to Mount St. Joseph University on Friday evening for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. Despite a pair of Yellow Jacket home runs in game one, Defiance fell short by a 5-4 score before being held scoreless in the nightcap, falling 3-0.
