Defiance Alumna Megan Warren Named Head Softball Coach
DEFIANCE, OHIO - Defiance College alum and Acting Head Softball coach Megan Warren has accepted the position of full time Head Coach for the Yellow Jackets announced Wednesday afternoon.
DEFIANCE, OHIO - Defiance College alumna and Acting Head Softball coach Megan Warren has accepted the position of full-time Head Coach for the Yellow Jackets announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Mason, Ohio native piloted the Purple and Gold during the 2019 season finishing with a 20-16 overall record, 9-7 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference mark earning the Yellow Jackets their third straight HCAC Tournament appearance.
Warren returns to Defiance College from Purdue University where she served as an Athletic Training Graduate Assistant. While at Purdue, Megan also served as Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach for West Lafayette High School.
While at Defiance, Megan was a four year softball player for the Yellow Jackets. She earned Second Team All-HCAC honors once and Academic All-HCAC honors twice during her career. Warren was also named First Team All-HCAC and NFCA Third-Team All-Central Region for her senior season efforts. Warren played 145 games in a Yellow Jacket uniform. Megan's 149 career hits place her third all-time at Defiance, while her 100 RBI's place her second on the career leaderboard. Warren's 36 career doubles land her first on the Defiance charts. Warren helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the HCAC Tournament during her senior season.
