Yellow Jackets Compete at All-Ohio Championships
CEDARVILLE, OHIO – The Defiance College men's cross country team participated in the All-Ohio Championship, hosted by Cedarville University, with teams across the state from all three divisions of the NCAA, as well as many NAIA and junior college competitors.
CEDARVILLE, OHIO – The Defiance College men's cross country team participated in the All-Ohio Championship, hosted by Cedarville University, with teams across the state from all three divisions of the NCAA, as well as many NAIA and junior college competitors.
The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Daren Gies, who placed in the 293rd position with a time of 32:40.9. Freshman Tyler Hines followed closely behind with a time of 32:55.0 to finish in the 296th spot.
Sophomore Brandon Zartman finished the eight-kilometer course in 35:40.5 and placed in 309th, while Aubree Griggs and Spencer Ross rounded out the field for DC, placing 317th and 323rd, respectively.
Defiance placed in the 38th position overall in the meet, which was won by the University of Dayton and followed by the University of Akron and Ohio University. Ohio Northern won the Division III level of the competition.
Defiance will now take a two-week break, before returning to action at the #JennaStrong Invitational, hosted by Wilmington College, on Friday, Oct. 13. The race is set to start at 4:30 p.m.
