Men's track places 17th, women 13th at Cedarville Yellow Jacket Open
The Defiance men's and women's track and field teams made their outdoor season debuts on Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor. The women placed 13th while the men finished 17th.
The Defiance men's and women's track and field teams made their outdoor season debuts on Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor. The women placed 13th while the men finished 17th.
The Basics
- The event was hosted by Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.
- Cedarville won the men's competition with 174 points while Findlay totaled 135 points to place first in the women's standings.
- The Defiance men placed 17th with five points while the women placed 13th with eight points.
Notable Performances
- Freshman Traci Cross placed five in the women's 100-meters with a time of 13.39 seconds to earn four points for the Yellow Jackets.
- Senior Lisa Markau placed eighth in the 100-meters to earn a point for Defiance and earned three points in the 200-meters with a seventh-place finish.
- On the men's side, sophomore Tawon Cannon earned all five of Defiance's points with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meters with a time of 51.20 seconds.
- Sophomore Ron Scott finished 12th in the men's shot put with a mark of 11.59m.
