Jackson Leads Men's Track & Field at the Bob Kahn Invitational
OBERLIN, OHIO - The Defiance College men's track and field team, led by sophomore Vince Jackson, competed at the Bob Kahn Invitational on Saturday afternoon hosted by Oberlin College.
OBERLIN, OHIO - The Defiance College men's track and field team, led by sophomore Vince Jackson, competed at the Bob Kahn Invitational on Saturday afternoon hosted by Oberlin College.
Jackson won the high jump with a height of 1.84 meters.
Junior James Baranoski, Jr. won the shot put with a toss of 13.55 meters. Senior Justin Bergquist finished fourth in the event, while sophomore Kaleb Tyree took sixth.
Senior Javier Castillo took second in the discus throw with a distance of 41.85 meters, while senior Andrew Fahler claimed a tenth place finish in the event with a toss of 34.76 meters.
Castillo also claimed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 49.11 meters, with Fahler finished fourth in the event with a throw of 47.76 meters.
Baranoski, Jr. took ninth in the hammer with a distance of 38.92 meters.
In the javelin throw, sophomore Cody Drumm-Turner took second with a throw of 45.38 meters. Sophomore Spencer Ross took third in the event with a distance of 43.50 meters.
On the track, sophomore Gabriel Caris led the way in the 400-meter dash with a second place finish in a time of 51.40, while also taking seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.45.
Drumm-Turner claimed a eighth place finish in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.62.
Defiance returns to action on Saturday, April 13 as they compete at All-Ohio.
