Men's Track Competes at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA -- The Defiance College men's track and field program sent five athletes to the Harrison Dillard Twilight at Baldwin Wallace University on Friday with solid results.
Senior Joshua Petro (Ocala, Fla./The Villages) placed seventh in the hammer with a toss of 52.79 meters (173 feet, 2 inches), while junior Javier Castillo (Nogales, Ariz.) threw the discus and placed 18th with a best throw of 12.94 meters (42 feet, 5.5 inches).
Freshman Vince Jackson (Mason) placed third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.91 meters (6 feet, 3.25 inches).
A pair of Yellow Jackets also ran in running events, as freshman Cody Drumm-Turner (Homer, Mich.) placed 24th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.79 seconds, as well as 16th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.81 seconds.
Finally, freshman Gabriel Caris (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford) also placed 22nd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.70 seconds.
Defiance is set for their final last chance competition on Thursday, May 17 at Ohio Wesleyan University.
