Men's Tennis Concludes Home Season with Franklin Battle
DEFIANCE, OHIO - The Defiance College men's tennis team took advantage of the beautiful weather on Saturday morning and headed out to the Dix Tennis Facility for the first time this season. The Yellow Jackets hosted Franklin College, falling to the Grizzlies 9-0.

The Yellow Jackets honored their lone senior, Ring Lardner (Milford, Del. / Milford), as he took the home court for the final time in his career.
Doubles play saw the Yellow Jackets closest contest come on the number three court. Micaiah Cox (Ft. Recovery) and Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) battled to an 8-3 defeat.
Singles action saw freshman Ethan Harris (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll) put on a thrilling competition with the Franklin number one. After taking the first set 6-4, Harris fell 6-3 in the second. It took a nail-biting 12-10 third set to separate the two, with FC ultimately coming out on top.
Lardner fell in his senior day showdown 6-1. 6-0. Jared Schnee (Bellevue) battled to a 6-4, 6-1 defeat in number two singles.
Defiance moves to 2-9 on the season with an 0-4 mark in HCAC play. The Yellow Jackets will spend the remaining four games of the season on the road to wrap up HCAC play. DC will return to action Wednesday, April 10 as they travel to Earlham. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
