Men's Tennis Swept in HCAC Action

Franklin, Ind. - The Defiance College men's tennis team was swept in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action this afternoon falling at Transylvania (6-3) and Franklin (9-0).

In the contest with Transylvania, the Purple and Gold (3-16 overall, 1-5 HCAC) were led by senior Nathan Principe (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Snider) who teamed up with senior Eline Widman (Tiffin) to claim number two doubles, while also winning number four singles 6-4, 6-4.

The duo of senior Adam Swisher (Bedford, Mich.) and freshman Jared Schnee (Bellevue) rounded out the scoring for DC claiming number one doubles.

The Purple and Gold closed out the day at Franklin in a tough Conference road battle being shutout 9-0.

Defiance returns to action on Saturday, April 28 when they close out the season with Hanover.
