Yellow Jackets Drop Home Match with Alma, 8-1

DEFIANCE, Ohio -  The Defiance College men's tennis team dropped their second straight match this afternoon as they fell 8-1 to Alma College in Defiance, Ohio.

In doubles play, tandem Adam Swisher and Eline Widman dropped first doubles 8-2 while Nathan Principe and Jared Schnee fell 8-2. Duo Ring Lardner and Henry Brown were trumped at No. 3 doubles 8-0.

In singles action, Swisher captured the Yellow Jackets only win on the afternoon, defeating his opponent in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, and 10-5 at first singles. Both Schnee and Widman were routed 6-3, 6-0 at second and third singles respectively. No. 4 singles went to the Scots as Principe lost 6-0, 6-1 while Brown retired after falling 5-0 at fifth singles. Alma wrapped up the win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lardner at No. 6 singles.

The Purple and Gold return to action on Sunday, March 4 as they travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina to participate in the Spring Tennis Fest. First serve is set for 6:30 PM!
