DeMeo and Swisher Garner All-HCAC Honors
GREENWOOD, IND. -- Defiance College men's tennis players James DeMeo (Oregon/Clay) and Adam Swisher (Bedford, Mich./Bedford) have been recognized as All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference players for their efforts this season.
GREENWOOD, IND. -- Defiance College men's tennis players James DeMeo (Oregon/Clay) and Adam Swisher (Bedford, Mich./Bedford) have been recognized as All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference players for their efforts this season.
DeMeo has been named to the All-Conference Teams for the fourth time in his career and his third All-HCAC selection. He was a honorable mention pick as a freshman. As a senior, DeMeo was the team's top singles player and posted a 16-6 overall record (15-6 at #1 singles; 1-0 at #2 singles). He also competed at first doubles throughout the season and recorded an overall mark of 14-8.
For his career, DeMeo recorded a combined 108 victories betwen singles and doubles, setting a Defiance record. He was also part of three teams that qualified for the HCAC Tournament.
Swisher earns All-Conference honors for the second time in his career and his first All-HCAC award. He was tabbed honorable mention All-HCAC last season. This season, Swisher posted a combined 16-5 overall record in singles action, competing primarily at the second singles spot (15-5 at #2 singles; 1-0 at #3 singles). In doubles competition, Swisher primarily teammed up with DeMeo at first doubles and ended the year with a combined mark of 12-9 (12-6 at #1 doubles; 0-3 at #2 doubles).
In addition to earning honorable mention honors, Swisher was also selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
