Clingaman, Gutierrez Pace Men's Golf in Third Place Finish
WAUSEON, OHIO - Sophomore Hayden Clingman (Stryker) and freshman Federico Gutierrez (Queretaro, Mexico) claimed top five finishes to pace the way for men's golf on Tuesday afternoon at the Jon P. Spiess Invitational hosted at Ironwood Golf Course.

The Yellow Jackets tallied a third place finish of 10 teams on the par 72, 6,164 yard course with a combined score of 306 strokes. Trine won the team title with 293 strokes, followed by Lourdes with 302 strokes.
Gutierrez and Clingaman paced the way for DC as they tied for fourth place with 74 strokes. Freshman Diego Gonzalez (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) finished tied for seventh in the 64 golfer field with 75 strokes. Senior Stephan Dolan (Painesville Twp.) claimed the 33rd spot, followed by freshman Werner Heinze (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) in 40th with 85 strokes.
The Purple and Gold alternate team registered a six place finish with 331 strokes, led by freshman Oliver Thomas (Margaretta). Thomas finished tied for 11th overall with 77 strokes.
Freshman Ignacio Nacho Araiza (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) carded a 82 for 30th place, followed by senior Drake Moening (Defiance) in 37th place with 84 strokes. Freshman Dominic Castelvetere (Mansfield) rounded out the scoring for DC with 88 strokes.
DC returns to action Saturday, Sept. 22 as they travel to Bluffton for the Beaver Invitatonal. Tee time is set for 10:00 am from Hidden Creek Golf Club.
