Defiance Concludes Round One of the HCAC Golf Championship

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Defiance men's golf team wrapped up day one of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Golf Championship tied for sixth overall in the nine team field hosted by Franklin College at the Fort Golf Resort.
The Yellow Jackets registered a team score of 318 (+30) led by senior Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) and freshman Daniel Acosta (Torreon, Mexico/Gary Gilchrist Academy) shooting a team best 79 strokes.
Junior Stephan Dolan (Painesville Twp.) and freshman Hayden Clingaman (Stryker) both registered an 80 for the Purple and Gold while senior Adam McGinnis (Bloomville/Buckeye Central) rounded out the scoring for DC with an 83.
Transylvania currently sits in first place followed by Mount St. Joseph in second and Hanover College in third place.
Round two of the 72-hole tournament will begin at approximately noon on Sunday, April 29.
