Men's Basketball Falls at Ball State in Exhibition Finale
MUNCIE, Ind. – On Tuesday night, the Defiance College men’s basketball team played its final exhibition game of the season, falling to the host Ball State University Cardinals, 87-43, at Worthen Arena. The contest was the 2019-20 regular-season opener for NCAA Division I Ball State.

Defiance trailed 9-5 at the first media timeout before the Cardinals took a 41-16 halftime lead. BSU established its largest advantage, 81-35, with 3:40 left.
The Yellow Jackets shot just 28.8 percent (17 of 59) from the field while the hosts finished at 51.6 (33 of 64). Ball State made 12 three-pointers to DC's five. Defiance had 27 points off the bench and ended with 16 turnovers and five steals.
For the Yellow Jackets, Sean Tyson (Columbus, Ohio/Centennial) tallied six points, five rebounds and two steals. Marell Jordan (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) also scored six points to go along with four boards, two assists and a pair of steals.
DC opens the regular season this Saturday when hosting Westminster College of Pennsylvania. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. at the Karl H. Weaner Center.
