Kremer Selected as HCAC Hitter of the Week
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College’s Brad Kremer led the Yellow Jacket offense over spring break with an OPS of 1.243, and has been selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Hitter of the Week.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College's Brad Kremer led the Yellow Jacket offense over spring break with an OPS of 1.243, and has been selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Hitter of the Week.
Kremer helped guide the Purple and Gold to a 4-3 record at the Gene Cusic Classic, as the junior recorded a batting average of .429 on six hits, two for extra bases. The Saint Henry native led DC in on-base percentage with a mark of .600 and slugging with a clip of .643. Kremer was also second on the team in RBIs with seven in just six games played.
The DC infielder recorded a hit in five of the six games over the week and at an RBI in four-of-six games. Kremer's best performance at the dish came in the second game of the doubleheader versus Mitchell. The junior picked up two doubles, four runs batted in and plated one run in the contest.
This award marks the second time in Kremer's career that the junior has received the honor, with the first coming a season ago after Kremer hit for the cycle in a game against Transylvania.
Kremer and the Jackets will host Hanover in the Jackets HCAC-home opener on Friday, March 22 at 4:15 p.m.
