Bio

Makayla McAvoy is in her second year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Defiance College in 2022-23. McAvoy spent the past two years as an Assistant Coach with the DC softball team. 

Prior to her time at Defiance, she served as an Athletic Training Graduate Assistant at California State University-Chico where she earned a Master of Kinesiology degree with an athletic training education option. 

A 2016 graduate of Defiance College, Makayla was a four-year softball player for the Yellow Jackets, where she appeared in 128 games, recorded 66 hits, and an on-base percentage of .338. She graduated in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.
