Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Earn Academic Honor
NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual All-Academic teams and the Defiance College men's and women's cross country teams were both recognized with All-Academic honors.
NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual All-Academic teams and the Defiance College men's and women's cross country teams were both recognized with All-Academic honors.
To be considered for the All-Academic Team, squads must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school.
The Yelliow Jacket men finished with a 3.32 team GPA and were one of 173 men's team to earn the award, while the DC women secured a 3.18 team GPA and were one of 216 women's squads to qualify for the award.
LeTourneau (Texas) University was the top-graded men's team with a 3.80 team GPA, while Greenville (Ill.) College earned top honors for the women with a 3.84 team GPA.
