Yellow Jackets Place 10th at HCAC Championships

HANOVER, IND. -- The Defiance College Yellow Jacket cross country team placed 10th in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.
The Yellow Jackets finished in 10th place out of 10 teams, finishing about 50 points behind Mount St. Joseph for the ninth position.
Manchester (Ind.) University dominated, finishing in the top three positions to win the meet with just 22 points. Bluffton placed second with 64 points, while Hanover (Ind.) placed in the third position with 99 points. Rose-Hulman (Ind.) barely edged Anderson (Ind.), 108-112, for the fourth position.
The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Aaron Textor (Swanton), who finished the six-kilometer course in 28:40.82, placing her in 55th position. Textor was followed by junior Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville), who placed in the 95th position, running a mark of 37:36.24.
Hannah Williams (Swanton), Laura Lutzke (Williamston, Mich.), and Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) finished 101st, 102nd, and 103rd, respectively to round out the Yellow Jacket runners.
The Yellow Jackets will wrap up the 2016 season season at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships in Holland, Mich. on Saturday, Nov. 12.
