Women's Cross Country Earns All-Academic Team Honors
NEW ORLEANS, L.A. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual Scholar Teams of the Year list and the Defiance College Women’s Cross Country Team was recognized with the honor.
NEW ORLEANS, L.A. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual Scholar Teams of the Year list and the Defiance College Women's Cross Country Team was recognized with the honor.
The Yellow Jacket women not only excelled in the fall on the cross country course, they also studied hard and dominated in the classroom. To be considered for the All-Academic Team, squads must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school.
Defiance completed this achievement with a cumulative GPA of 3.41. Senior Marissa Bussard (Whitehall/Bloom-Carroll), who is majoring in forensic science and minoring in chemisty, helped lead the way by achieving a 4.0 GPA.
