Lady Harriers Place 8th at HCAC Championships
BLUFFTON, Ohio – The DC women’s cross country team competed at the annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, October 27. DC placed eighth overall on the day with a score of 235 points. The meet was held at Bluffton’s 6k course.
BLUFFTON, Ohio – The DC women's cross country team competed at the annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, October 27. DC placed eighth overall on the day with a score of 235 points. The meet was held at Bluffton's 6k course.
Defiance was led by junior Ericha Griep who finished 33rd with a time of 26:14.2. The run was almost two whole minutes faster than the 6k she ran earlier on in the year at the Bluffton Invitational.
Finishing second for the team was sophomore Brianna Rodriguez. The Ottoville, Ohio native placed 57th overall with a mark of 27:34.
Manchester University grabbed the top spot at the meet by finishing with a total of 42 points. Coming in right behind them was Hanover College who placed second with 62 points.
DC senior Alisha Kazlausky was placed on the HCAC All-Sportmanship Team for displaying a great attitude and work ethic throughout the season.
Next up on the schedule for the lady harriers is the NCAA Division III Regional Championships at Anderson, Ind. The event will begin at 11 a.m.
