DC Opens the Season with Race at Manchester Invitational
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Yellow Jackets cross country teams began the season on Tuesday, September 1, at the Manchester College Hokum Karem Invitational. The women’s team placed third among four teams while the men’s team finished fourth overall.

In the women's race, Kaitlin Switzer and Erika DeBos teamed up to finish sixth overall with a time of 6:26. The team of Ellen Stryfeller and Kaye Brockbrader finished ninth with a time of 6:41 while Kelly Neff and Courtney Swabb came in 13th finishing the race in 7:08. Andria Galbraith and Chelsea Sites teamed up to run a time of 7:22 and Mindy Delong and Kara Suffel finished in 7:28.
For the men, the team of Ryan Green and Hayden Krick led the Yellow Jackets finishing 11th overall with a time of 5:32. Seth Bidlack and Aaron Fraley combined to finish 13th with a time of 5:33 and Logan Alvarez and Matt Rolf teamed up to finish 15th overall with a time of 5:42. Ryan Nusbaum and Troy Secrest finished with a time of 6:02 and Steve Switz and Issac Wilkins finished in 6:06 rounding out the scoring for the DC harriers.
The Cross Country teams will return to action on Saturday, September 12, to participate in the Defiance invitational on the DC campus beginning at 10:00 am.
