Yellow Jackets Compete in the NCAA Regional Championships
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Defiance College’s women’s cross country team competed in the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday, November 14. The Yellow Jackets garnered 827 points in the meet and placed 28th overall in what was the team’s final competition of the season.

Kaitlin Switzer led the way for the Jackets with a 136th-place finish as she completed the 6k course in 25:42. DC's Kaye Brockbrader was the second harrier to finish, crossing the line in 26:29. Senior Kelly Neff wrapped up her career at DC with a third place finish for the Jackets, completing the course in 26:47. Kara Suffel (26:56) and Mindy DeLong (27:55) rounded out the top five finishers for Defiance. The average finish for the Jackets was 26:46, which is 1:13 faster than last year's pace.
The NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships concludes the 2009 season for Defiance College's women's cross country team.
