Umbdenstock joins volleyball as assistant coach
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College volleyball coach Brie Brenner has announced Nick Umbdenstock as the program’s new assistant coach.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College head volleyball coach Brie Brenner has announced Nick Umbdenstock as the program's new assistant coach.
"I'm very excited to join the Defiance College volleyball staff. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with Brie, and I can't thank her enough for bringing me on board!"
Umbdenstock has spent valuable time as a coach at both the club and collegiate level. He comes to Defiance after a stint at fellow Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference member, Mount St. Joseph, where he served as assistant coach while simultaneously leading teams in the club environment.
Prior to his time with MSJ, Umbdenstock served in a variety of roles across numerous clubs and divisions of collegiate athletics. While with Ohio Premier Volleyball Club, he served as an assistant club director, head coach of multiple age groups, and provided services as a private lesson and training instructor.
Alongside roles with Cincinnati State Community College as defensive coordinator and Miami University (OH) as an intern, Umbdenstock has amassed a variety of coaching experiences that he now brings to Defiance.
Originally from Fairborn, Ohio, Umbdenstock earned a Bachelor of Science in sport leadership and management with a coaching concentration from Miami University in 2015.
