DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Defiance College volleyball program has announced that 2014 Defiance College graduate Alicia Kalik has been hired to a full-time assistant coaching position with the program.
The program brings Kalik on for her first full-time season as an assistant coach in 2017 after she helped on a part-time basis for the 2016 campaign.
Kalik, a four-year starter as a setter for DC, was a three-time All-HCAC honoree as well as an HCAC Freshman of the Year award winner during her career. Kalik also set the school-record with 3751 total assists, and holds three of the five biggest assist seasons in the history of Defiance College. She helped lead the Yellow Jackets to back-to-back HCAC regular-season titles in 2013 and 2014, DC's most recent HCAC championships in volleyball.
"I want to thank Coach Brenner for giving me the opportunity to coach alongside her and return to Defiance College. I love this place and the opportunity to give back to this program is a dream come true" Kalik said upon getting hired.
Kalik comes to the program after working at Bowling Green State University as a graduate assistant in their student-athlete services, and will serve as the academic coordinator with the Yellow Jackets.
