The Defiance men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Michigan on Friday to compete in the Doug Hanson Invite.
The Basics
- The event was hosted by Saginaw Valley State at the SVSU Fieldhouse in Saginaw Mich.
- No team scores were kept.
Notable Performances
- Junior Ja'Qway Janvier placed fourth in the men's 200-meters with a time of 23.04 seconds.
- Freshman Jalen Corbin placed fifth in the 200-meters with a personal best time of 23.26 seconds.
- In the women's 200-meters freshman Traci Cross finished third in a time of 26.84, a top-five time in school history.
- Freshman Decota Shaw placed fourth in the men's 400-meters with a time of 52.63 seconds, a personal best.
- Sophomores Ron Scott and Moses Epps each set new personal bests in the shot put with throws of 12.24 meters and 11.36 meters.
- The men's 4x400 relay team consisting Tawon Cannon, Corbin, John Reese, and Shaw placed fourth with a time of 3:35.46.
