Newman PR's to Lead Women's Track & Field

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Defiance College women's track and field team traveled to Cleveland on Saturday afternoon for the Spartan Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve University. 

Junior Blake Newman led the way for the Purple and Gold as she claimed a fourth place finish with a season best toss of 23.05 meters.

Junior Madi Bowman found success in the hammer throw as she finished seventh overall with a distance of 42.18 meters, while also claiming a fifth place finish in the discus throw with a throw of 34.36 meters. In the shot put, the junior finished eighth overall with a toss of 10.69 meters a personal best. 

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, April 26 as they compete at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Mount St. Joseph.
