Bowman Sets School-Record to Lead Women's Track & Field

OBERLIN, OHIO - Junior Madi Bowman sets the school record in the weight throw to lead Defiance College on Friday evening at the Oberlin College Dan Kinsey Invitational.
Bowman finished second overall in the event with a school-record toss of 15.96 meters, breaking the previous record of 15.86 meters set in 2003.
Sophomore Megan Trimpey also posted a strong performance in the pole vault finishing second overall with a school-record tying height of 3.20 meters.
The Yellow Jacket 4x200-meter relay team made up of junior Malia Ferry, sophomore Mackenzie Moerhman, junior Blake Newman and freshman Lisa-Maria Markau also found success in the event finishing second with a time of 2:02.73.
In the 60-meter hurdles, sophomore Kaitlyn Hughes registered a second place finish moving into 10th all-time in the event with a time of 11.09.
Ferry also found success in the 400-meter dash claiming a fourth place finish with a time of 1:10.95, while Markau captured a sixth place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.74 and a sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.90.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Friday, February 8 as they host the Dick Small Invite at the George M. Small Athletic Center.
