Williams Wins Hammer at Ohio Wesleyan

Senior Hannah Williams (Swanton) brought home another first-place finish in the hammer on Friday, as her throw of 45.62 meters (149 feet, 8 inches) dominated the competition, winning the meet by over 15 feet. Sophomore Madi Bowman (Eaton) also finished sixth with a throw of 35.29 meters (115 feet, 9 inches).
Williams returned with another solid performance on Saturday, placing second in the discus with a throw of 38.09 meters (125 feet), with Bowman coming in seventh with a throw of 33.54 meters (110 feet).
Seniors Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) added finishes of second and fourth in the shot put. Santen's best toss was 11.11 meters (36 feet, 5.5 inches), while Waidelich threw a best mark of 10.64 meters (34 feet, 11 inches).
Freshman Meagan Trimpey (Bowling Green) got back on the right track in pole vault on Saturday with a vault of 2.90 meters (9 feet, 6.25 inches), which was good enough for an eighth-place finish and moved her into a tie for fifth place on the school's all-time list.
The Yellow Jackets brought home a trio of top 10 finishes in running, led by senior Danielle Robbins (Westland, Mich./Wayne Memorial), who placed 10th out of 20 runners in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.04 seconds.
Freshman Mackenzie Moerhman (Deshler/Patrick Henry) placed ninth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.48 seconds.
Moerhman and Robbins were then joined by Trimpey and sophomore Malia Ferry (Milford) for the 4x400-meter relay, as they placed sixth with a time of 4:37.03.
Freshman Olivia Fett (Defiance) also placed 24th in a field of over 40 runners in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.37. She also finished 29th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:27.01.
The Yellow Jackets will head to Ohio Wesleyan next Saturday, Apr. 14 for the All-Ohio Championships. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m.
