Senior Hannah Williams (Swanton) had another great performance, garnering a pair of top three finishes. She placed second in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.68 meters (153 feet, 2 inches), while slotting into the third spot in the discus with a personal-best toss of 39.58 meters (129 feet, 10 inches). Williams also sits sixth in the NCAA in the hammer throw with her toss last week at Rose-Hulman
Sophomore Madi Bowman (Eaton) added a personal-best of over two meters in the hammer throw, a mark of 41.07 meters (134 feet, 9 inches), placing her seventh in the meet and eighth in DC history. That throw also placed her 36th in the NCAA in the event through March 23.
On the track, freshman Meagan Trimpey (Bowling Green) led the sprint squad with a personal-best time of 13.79 seconds, placing her 15th in the 100-meter dash. Senior Danielle Robbins (Westland, Mich./Wayne Memorial) placed 16th in the 100-meter dash (13.80 seconds) and also led Defiance in the 200-meter dash (28.20 seconds).
The 4x100-meter relay team of Robbins, Trimpey, Mackenzie Moerhman (Deshler/Patrick Henry), and Malia Ferry (Milford) placed fifth in their first relay of the outdoor season with a time of 54.49 seconds.
The Yellow Jackets look to carry their success into the Easter holiday, as they will return to action on Friday, Mar. 30 at the April Fools Invitational at Otterbein University. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
