Women's Track Picked Eighth in HCAC Poll
GREENWOOD, IND. -- The Defiance College women's indoor track and field teams were picked finish in the eight spot in the preseason Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference poll that was released on Tuesday afternoon.
GREENWOOD, IND. -- The Defiance College women's indoor track and field teams were picked finish in the eight spot in the preseason Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference poll that was released on Tuesday afternoon.
DC had 36 points in the preseason poll, finishing nine points ahead of Transylvania (27) and 23 in front of Mount St. Joseph University (13) by the conference coaches.
Rose-Hulman is picked to return to the top of the conference standings after being edged out by Hanover a year ago. RHIT finished with 96 points and six of the ten first place votes. Manchester grabbed a vote to win the conference with 87 points, followed by Hanover with a pair of first place votes and 80 total points. Bluffton, who is picked fourth, got the final vote to win the conference, while Earlham wraps up the projected top five.
The Yellow Jackets will start the 2018 calendar year with the Carnegie Mellon Invitational at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Saturday, Jan. 20. The meet will begin at 10 a.m.
