Four Women's Tracksters Honored by HCAC
GREENCASTLE, IND. -- The Defiance College women's track and field team had four athletes recognized by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for their performances at the conference championships during the indoor season.

Junior Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove) earned second-team All-HCAC honors after a runner-up finish in the the weight throw, tossing it 47' 11.00". Fellow junior Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) earned honorable mention honors after a third place finish at the HCAC Championships, with a throw of 46' 3.25". These two led the charge for the Yellow Jackets to take six of the top 10 positions in the event.
Senior Alexis Walker has also earned honorable mention All-HCAC honors after a third place finish in the shot put at the HCAC Championship. Walker's toss of 39' 4.00" was the third best on the day, and the top DC finisher in an event that saw the Yellow Jackets earn three of the top six spots. Santen also finished in the fourth position in the event, throwing 37' 10.50" to solidify her second-team honor.
Junior sprinter Laura Lutzke (Williamston, Mich./Williamston) was also honored by the HCAC as a member of the All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Defiance tracksters will return to action after Spring Break with another trip to Terre-Haute, Ind. for the Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Early Bird Invitational to begin the outdoor season.
