DC's Miller Earns USTFCCCA All-Region Honors
NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- Defiance College's Eme Miller (Portland, Ind./Jay County) capped a standout outdoor track and field season by earning All-Region honors in the 3000-meter steeplechase that was announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
NEW ORLEANS, LA. -- Defiance College's Eme Miller (Portland, Ind./Jay County) capped a standout outdoor track and field season by earning All-Region honors in the 3000-meter steeplechase that was announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Miller became a three-time Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Champion in the steeplechase this past spring recording and school and conference record mark in the process. She went on to improve upon her school record time in the event a total of four times this season and fell just shy of qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Meet with her latest record time of 10:58.38.
In addition, Miller also captured the outdoor 5000-meter run conference individual title and became a three-time All-HCAC award winner for the outdoor season with her efforts. Her time in the 5000-meter was also a school record (17:58.46).
For her career in track, Miller was a combined six-time All-HCAC honoree with four HCAC event titles. She also holds a total of seven school records (indoor and outdoor) and one conference record.
In cross country, Miller ends her career as a two-time All-Great Lakes Region runner and a three-time All-HCAC award winner. She holds both the 5K and 6K school records, including the program's top-five marks in the 5K and 11 of 15 top times recorded in the 6K.
