Defiance Competes At Manchester (Ind.)
N. MANCHESTER, IND. – The Defiance College women’s track and field team traveled to N. Manchester, Ind. to compete at Manchester (Ind.) University in the Spartan Classic and finished with a team score of 34, placing seventh overall.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Waverly Weaks (Liberty Center) who finished second in the triple jump after leaping a distance of 31' 10". Weaks also competed in the long jump and finished with a distance of 15' 07" which put her in sixth place.
Freshman Leah Anderson (Hicksville) finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles after crossing the line at the 1:12.25 minute mark. She also competed in the 100-meter hurdles and finished fifth after posting a time of 18.20 seconds.
Anderson, Weaks, junior Jessie Bell (West Salem/Northwestern) and sophomore Micah Wilson (Mims, Fla. /Astronaut) teamed up together for the 4x100 relay and finished sixth with a time of 54.42 seconds.
Junior Eme Miller (Portland, Ind. /Jay County) finished the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:12.42 for a fifth place finish. Freshman Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill. /Downers Grove North) represented the Yellow Jackets in the shot put and launched the shot a distance of 35' 1.75" to finish in fifth place.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Monday, Apr. 6 when they host the Dick Small Invitational at the Justin F. Coressel Stadium. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
