Miller Leads the Way at All-Ohio
WESTERVILLE, OHIO – The Defiance College women’s track and field team competed in three events in the All-Ohio DIII Championships in Westerville at Otterbein University and finished 18th with a team score of four points.
WESTERVILLE, OHIO – The Defiance College women's track and field team competed in three events in the All-Ohio DIII Championships in Westerville at Otterbein University and finished 18th with a team score of four points.
Defiance started the day with a ninth-place finish in the distance medley relay. The relay team consisted of freshmen Courtney Kunk (St. Henry), Leah Anderson (Hicksville), Aaron Textor (Swanton) and senior Kelsey Bowling (Sidney/Houston). The relay team posted a final time of 14:27.42.
Sophomore Eme Miller (Portland, Ind. /Jay County) ran in the 5000-meter run and finished fifth with a season best time of 18:41.52.
Rounding out the day for Defiance, sophomore Alexis Walker (Fort Myers, Fla. /Fort Myers) threw the weight a distance of 37" 0.50' for a 14th place finish.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
