Yellow Jackets Compete at Northwest Ohio Invitational

Defiance was led by junior Eme Miller (Portland, Ind. / Jay County) with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter run. Miller crossed the line at the 10:43.67 minute mark. Fellow Yellow Jacket, Aaron Textor (Swanton) crossed the line at the 11:45.23 mark, placing 12th overall.
In the field events, sophomore Alexis Walker (Fort Myers, Fla. / Fort Myers) threw a personal best in weight with a distance of 14.28 meters, which moves her to fourth on the all-time Defiance track and field list.
Junior Waverly Weaks (Liberty Center) after six attempts, jumped the distance of 4.87 meters which gave her a sixth-place finish. Freshman Leah Anderson (Hicksville) also competed in the long jump and finished 10th with a distance of 4.63 meters.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24 when they host the Defiance College Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
