Bingley completes opening day one of NCAA Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio – After the first day of competition, Kim Bingley sits in 19th place at the NCAA DIII National Outdoor Championships. Four events were completed at Ohio Wesleyan University during day one.
Bingley (Ottawa, Ohio / Ottawa-Glandorf) started the day with a 16th place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. She finished with a time of 15.67 and gained 755 points. The 755 points were the most that she received in one event all day.
After the 100-meter hurdles, the competition shifted to the high jump. Bingley cleared a height of 1.49 meters. The mark was good enough to tie her in 17th place and pickup another 610 points.
Up next was the shot put. Bingley had her best finished of the day in the event. She finished in 9th place with a throw of 10.74 meters. The toss also picked her up another 578 points.
The last event of the day was the 200-meter dash. Bingley picked up 680 points with a time of 27.39. The time also picked up a 21st place finish.
At the end of the four events, Bingley stood in 19th place. Her 2,623 points put her just 581 points off the pace heading into day two.
The Nationals will continue on Friday starting at 1 p.m.
