Bingley and Sarfino finish up day two of All-Ohio Heptathlon
ALLIANCE, Ohio – Kim Bingley and Margaret Sarfino finished up day two of the All-Ohio Division III Heptathlon Championships. Bingley had another very strong day, finishing in second place overall for the two days. Sarfino was not far behind, finishing in seventh.
ALLIANCE, Ohio – Kim Bingley and Margaret Sarfino finished up day two of the All-Ohio Division III Heptathlon Championships. Bingley had another very strong day, finishing in second place overall for the two days. Sarfino was not far behind, finishing in seventh.
Bingley (Ottawa, Ohio / Ottawa-Glandorf) finished with 4,471 points to claim the second place spot. Her 4,471 is the third best so far this season in NCAA Division III. In day two, Bingley took first in the javelin, third in the 800-meter dash, and sixth in the long jump. Her javelin throw of 38.27 meters not only was the winning distance for the All-Ohio Division III Heptathlon Championships, but also a best for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this season. In the 800-meter race she took third with a time of 2:26.39. She took sixth in the long jump to finish out her weekend. A jump of 4.76 meters secured the sixth place spot.
Sarfino (Dayton, Ohio / Kettering Fairmont) had another strong day as well. She finished with a two day total of 3,657 points. She had a pair of eighth place finishes and a ninth place finish on day two. She threw for a distance of 24.54 meters in the javelin to finish in eighth. She also finished in the eight spot in the 800-meter dash. She posted a time of 2:39.30 in that event. She also claimed ninth place in the long jump with a distance of 4.60 meters. Her javelin throw and 800-meter dash time were both personal records.
Sarfino and Bingley will rejoin the track team when they travel next Saturday to compete at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships beginning at noon.
