Several athletes had a nice showing for the Lady Yellow Jackets at the meet and several school records fell.
Kali George (East Palestine, Ohio / East Palestine) arguably had the best day for any DC athlete on the day. She captured points for the Yellow Jackets in three different events at the All-Ohio Championships. Her best finish came in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.58 meters. With the clearance she captured the victory and 10 points for DC. She also held her own in the 400-meter dash, finishing in seventh place with a time of 1:00.61. George wasn't don't yet, she also teamed up with Bree Anderson (Huntertown, Ind. / Carroll), Waverly Weaks (Liberty Center, Ohio / Liberty Center), and Micah Wilson (Mims, Fla. / Astronaut) to pick up a fifth place finish in the 4x200-meter relay. They did so by smashing a school record with a time of 1:48.05. George finished her impressive day with 16 points to put toward the Lady Yellow Jackets' total.
Besides the 4x200-meter relay, Wilson also had a strong day for DC. She broke the DC school record in the 200-meter dash. With a time of 26.09, Wilson picked up the second place finish and ended her day with 12 points.
Weaks was another athlete who picked up points in multiple events. Besides the relay, she also received points in the long jump. With a distance of 4.93 meters, she picked up the seventh place finish and 2 points. Weaks ended her day contributing six points to the DC total.
