DC’s Bingley Competes in First Four Events of Heptathlon
LACROSSE, Wis. – Taking part in her second National Collegiate Athletic Association Div. III Outdoor National Championships, Defiance’s junior track and field athlete Kim Bingley put together solid marks on the first day of competition.

III Outdoor National Championships, Defiance's junior track and field athlete Kim Bingley put together solid marks on the first day of competition. She currently sits in 21st place after four of the seven heptathlon events with 2,624 points.
In her first showing, the Ottawa-Glandorf High product clocked in a personal record time of 15.49 in the 100-meter hurdles. The mark was good for 16th place and 778 points.
Bingley switched over to the first field event next, where she competed in the high jump and cleared a 19th-place height of 1.48 meters. This was a season high for the Lady Jacket and added 599 points to her total.
The junior chalked up 539 more points in her third and best outing of the afternoon during the shot put competition. Bingley came through with a heave of 10.14 meters for 10th place.
Finally, Bingley wrapped up her first day of the championships with the 200-meter dash. She crossed the finish line in 21st with a time of 27.04, giving her 708 points.
Bingley will conclude her nationals outing tomorrow, Friday, May 23 with the final three heptathlon events of long jump, javelin and the 800-meter run. The Purple and Gold's female track and field representative will kick of her day of action at 4 p.m.
