Bingley Receives USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honored DC sophomore heptathalete Kim Bingley on Wednesday for her strong performance in the classroom and on the track for the 2012 outdoor season.
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honored DC sophomore heptathalete Kim Bingley on Wednesday for her strong performance in the classroom and on the track for the 2012 outdoor season. Bingley was named to the 2012 Division III All-Academic Track & Field team.
The status was awarded to Division III athletes who maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 and competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the top 35 of an individual event. Bingley competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in the heptathalon.
The sophomore totaled 4,506 points over the three-day competition, competing in seven events. Bingley placed tenth-out-of-22 athletes and was sixth of all non-seniors. Bingley performed exceptionally well in the track portion of the competition, scoring over 700 points in the 100-meter hurdles, 800-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
