GREENWOOD, Ind. – DC's Kim Bingley was honored by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference as the Field Athlete of the Week on Monday. The freshman athlete received the honor after posting the best javelin throw in the conference this season at the Div. III All-Ohio Championships.
Bingley threw the javelin a personal-best 109' 11" to claim fourth place at the championship meet and receive NCAA Div. III Outdoor All-Ohio honors. Her performance also ranks among the top-ten in Defiance College track and field history for the event.
In addition to her javelin tossing talents, Bingley boasts a diverse set of skills that have landed the freshman among the HCAC's top performers in four other events. She currently ranks 11th in the conference in the 100-meter dash, 10th in the high jump, eighth in the 200-meter dash and sixth in the shot put.
