HCAC Names Six Jackets to Spring All-Sportsmanship Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2010 All-Sportsmanship Team for the spring sports on Wednesday. The award is part of the league-wide initiative to promote good sportsmanship.

Defiance College's HCAC Sportsmanship Award winners for the spring sports were Mark Vandevender (men's tennis), Matt Chidester (baseball), Aarika Davis (softball), Brian Jones (men's golf), Seth Bidlack (men's track and field) and Courtney Swabb (women's track and field).

Members of the HCAC All-Sportsmanship Team were selected by head coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field or court of competition.

Nominees must be a member of an intercollegiate athletic team during the 2009-2010 academic year and must have consistently demonstrated the values of respect and integrity in their daily participation of intercollegiate athletics.
