Trivett Wins Decathlon, Provisionally Qualified in Two Events
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The second-annual Yellow Jacket Multi-Event Challenge wrapped up on Saturday. DC’s Austin Trivett won the decathlon with a personal-record 6,188 points, which leaves the junior athlete provisionally qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championships in the decathlon and high jump.

Trivett posted first-place performances in the long jump, high jump, 110-meter hurdles, pole vault and javelin throw to take the top spot at the meet. He is currently ranked 15th among Div. III three athletes in the decathlon and tied for 16th in the nation in high jump.
DC's freshman athlete, Dan Hardin-Wallace, took second place at the meet with 5,576 total points on the weekend, while Tyler Anderson placed sixth with 3,968 points.
Kristin Goldstein paced the Yellow Jackets in the heptathlon, totaling 3,063 points for a sixth-place finish, while Erika DeBos finished ninth with 2,327 points.
The Defiance College track and field team will travel to Naperville, Ill., on Thursday, May 13, to take part in the Dr. Keeler Invitational. The two-day meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
