Perkins Breaks School Record at Gina Relays
HILLSDALE, Mich. – Justin Perkins improved his personal-record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase by nearly six second at the Gina Relays on the campus of Hillsdale College on Friday, April 23.
HILLSDALE, Mich. – Justin Perkins improved his personal-record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase by nearly six second at the Gina Relays on the campus of Hillsdale College on Friday, April 23. Perkins' time of 9:34.67 ranks as the fastest time in the HCAC this season, and the best time in DC history for the event.
Other competitors at the meet included the Jackets' 4x800 team, consisting of Seth Bidlack, Aaron Bronson, Hayden Krick and Aaron Fraley. The quartet set another school record at the meet, crossing the line in 8:08.37. The time marks a 17-second improvement over the previous school record, which was set earlier this season.
Kaitlin Switzer represented Defiance in the women's 5,000 meter run. The junior runner came in just three seconds off of her personal record, with a time of 19:37.86.
The Defiance College track and field team will compete tonight at the Taylor Invitational in Upland, Mich. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
