Howell Leads Defiance at Adrian All-American Invitational
ADRIAN, Mich. – The women’s track and field team competed at the Adrian College All-American Invitational on Saturday, April 10. Team results were not recorded, but the Yellow Jackets had several strong performances highlighted by Ashlyn Howell’s conference-record triple jump.

Howell's leap of 10.49 meters edges out Mount St. Joseph's Lauren Hastings by .14 meters for the top spot on the HCAC's top performances list, and places the sophomore second on DC's all-time performances list.
Emily Cole and Katie Heitkamp placed seventh and eighth respectively at the meet in the pole vault. Cole's clearance of 9-00.25 ranks fourth in the HCAC this season while Heitkamp posted the eighth-best performance in the conference this season, clearing 8-00.50.
In high jump, Erika DeBos stayed in eighth place in the HCAC, while slightly improving her personal-record this season with a jump of 1.45 meters.
Kaitlin Switzer placed second at the meet in the 3,000 meter steeple chase with a time of 12:10.88, while Kelly Neff ran the 800 meter dash in 2:40.32 to move into eighth-place in the HCAC this season.
The track and field team returns to action on Saturday, April 17, when they travel to Delaware, Ohio, to compete in the All-Ohio Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
