Zarembski and Stein Earn HCAC Weekly Award

Zarembski earned HCAC Player-of-the-Week honors for the third time in his career, after provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the high jump for the third consecutive year.
The junior cleared a personal-best 6-08.75 to win the event at the Polar Bear Invitational. Zarembski has now provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in each of his two indoor and three outdoor seasons, after recording the second-best jump in the nation this outdoor season.
Stein grabbed individual honors in the javelin at the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Invitational, while also posting All-Ohio and HCAC Championship qualifying marks in the discus and shot put. The sophomore set the top HCAC mark in the javelin earlier this season with a toss of 114-00 at the Dick Small Invitational, a mark that is six feet further than her nearest competitor. Stein has now earned four HCAC weekly awards in her two years at Defiance.
The Jackets will be back in action next weekend, April 4, when they compete in the Manchester Invitational. Events are set to get underway at 10:00 a.m.
