Women's Tennis Earns Midweek Sweep
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College women's tennis team picked up their second Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory of the season on Wednesday afternoon. DC began a lengthy spell of away contests with a trip to Earlham, where the Yellow Jackets came away with a 9-0 victory.

In the lone doubles match of the evening, Rylea Amspaugh (Nashport / Lakewood) and Robyn Otey (Sylvania / Southview) cruised to an 8-4 victory. The win marked the pair's first victory of the season as doubles partners.
Singles action saw a trio of sweeps for the Purple and Gold as they shut the Quakers down with 6-0, 6-0 victories. A.J. Breneman (Bryan / Bryan), Alexa St. Julian (Oregon / Clay), and Sydney Huston (Indianapolis, Ind. / Lawrence) each claimed one of the three wins.
The Yellow Jackets will wrap up a busy September schedule on Saturday the 28th with a trip to Hanover College. First serve with the Panthers is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
